Thoughts on our new 11ty website

Static Site Generators are a great way to take your website content and turn it into a static website that can be hosted on any web server or CDN. The great thing is that they're easy to use and you don't need much coding knowledge - they're generally easy to install and get started with.

To Nuxt or 11ty? That is the question.

We refresh our website fairly often and I had been toying with the idea of using Nuxt 3 when I came across 11ty. I had used Hugo and Jekyll before but this was new to me, and I installed it excitedly.

All I can say is... NICE!!!

It's been a pleasure and I'm excited to see where else we can go with this. The website itself looks fantastic and the 11ty developer documentation is great, making it easy to get started with.

My biggest concern from the get-go was, "what if I needed to use something that wasn't in the 11ty framework and had to switch back?", but this hasn't been the case and there are plenty of ways to extend it.

We'll continue to use 11ty and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a static site generator, especially if you're a developer and tech savvy business owner and don't mind rolling up your sleeves.
