What we collect, why, and on what basis
Contact form
Your name and email address, and, if you ask us to call, your telephone number. Optionally your company, current website, what you are trying to fix, the type of help you want, your timing, your rough budget, any existing supplier, and the message you write. We use this to reply to you and to carry on the conversation about your project. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests. We have a genuine business reason, and it does not override your rights: responding to someone who has approached us about our services. Where you tick the consent box, that also records your agreement to us contacting you.
AI visibility check
Your name, email address and website address, used to prepare and send you the result you asked for. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (providing the service you requested).
Newsletter form
Your email address, when you subscribed, and whether and when you unsubscribed. We store this in the website's database so we can email you when we publish a new article and respect your choice if you opt out. Where newsletter notifications are enabled, your email address is also passed to our internal Slack channel so we know you have signed up. Lawful basis: consent. Every newsletter will include an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.
Technical logs
Our hosting produces server logs containing IP addresses and request details. If an email or Slack notification fails to send, our application log records the error so we can investigate it. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and working, and making sure enquiries are not lost).
Confirmed newsletter sign-ups are stored in this website's database. Pending sign-ups use temporary storage while you confirm your email address. Contact form and AI visibility check submissions are sent to our business inbox; contact enquiries may also go to our internal Slack channel. The forms do not create a permanent enquiry record in the website database, but submitted details can be held temporarily in a session when a form needs correcting or retrying.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and how the site is used. Google Analytics stays off until you choose Accept analytics. If you reject analytics, the Google Analytics script is not loaded.
When accepted, Google Analytics uses cookies and processes information about your visit, including pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser information, and how you arrived at the site, as our processor under Google's data processing terms. Our lawful basis for the analytics itself is consent. You can withdraw it at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops further collection and clears the analytics cookies we can reach; it does not undo processing that has already taken place.
Cookies and similar storage
Strictly necessary storage (a session cookie that protects forms and carries messages between pages, and a record in your browser of your analytics choice) is used without consent, because the site cannot work properly without it, and because we have to remember a refusal in order to respect it. Everything else is consent-based. Full detail is in our cookie policy.
Who we share it with
We use these providers, acting as our processors:
- Slack Technologies: enquiry and newsletter notifications
- Resend: sending website emails, including enquiries and newsletter confirmations
- Google Workspace: receiving and managing our business email
- OVH: hosting the website and its database, temporary storage and server logs
- Google: analytics, only where you have accepted it
We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use it for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
International transfers
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. We are checking the data locations and transfer safeguards that apply to our accounts. Email us at hello@stuntrocket.co for details about a particular provider and the arrangements that apply to your information.
How long we keep it
These are the retention periods we are working towards. They are not yet in place across every service, so some existing records may be held longer.
- Enquiries and visibility-report requests that do not become projects: a target of 12 months after the last meaningful conversation. Active projects, complaints or disputes need a separate review.
- Company accounting records: six years from the end of the last company financial year they relate to, or longer where an applicable exception requires it. This accounting rule does not apply to every project email or attachment. Other project records depend on the continuing work and any relevant contractual or legal need.
- Unconfirmed newsletter sign-ups: the confirmation link and temporary confirmation data expire after 24 hours. Copies in email systems and backups have separate retention arrangements.
- Newsletter subscriptions: while you remain subscribed and the newsletter operates, with an annual review. If you unsubscribe, we retain the minimum suppression record needed to respect your choice, including your email address and opt-out date. We review that need annually and consider deletion requests without automatically removing the record that prevents unwanted email.
- Slack notification copies: a target of 90 days from each notification.
- Routine server and application logs: a target of 30 days. Relevant incident records may be kept longer with a reason and review date.
- Routine website backups: a target of a rolling 30 days. Deleted information may remain in a backup until it expires.
- Detailed Google Analytics user and event data: a target of two months, with the option to restart retention on new activity switched off. This does not cover every aggregate report or exported copy.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object to our use of your information, and we will stop unless we have compelling grounds to continue. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting anything done beforehand.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, by calling 0303 123 1113, or by writing to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
