Waypoint.
Working notes
Write the decision down while it's fresh.
One of fifteen tools the studio built for its own work. We build the same kind of app for clients, shaped around the job they need doing.

What Waypoint does.
Small decisions and useful context are easily lost when work is moving quickly. Waypoint captures them at the moment they happen, including the reasoning behind a decision or the details of a resolved incident.
Every note is a readable file on the machine. A quick-capture window keeps writing brief, and the notes remain usable without the app.
Keep the small decisions that usually disappear, so six months later the question "why did we do it this way?" still has an answer.
Why we built Waypoint.
The most valuable notes in any business are the ones that never get written: the decision made in passing, the incident fixed at speed, the reasoning that explains why things are the way they are. They evaporate because writing them down interrupts the work they're about.
Waypoint is built for that exact moment: one keystroke opens the right note, already set up, and the thought is captured before it's gone.
How Waypoint earns its place in a working day.
Open the right note
Each project keeps a living progress note that opens instantly and is prepared automatically the first time.
Capture as it happens
Decisions and incidents get their own structured notes (context, trade-offs, what was done), each a keystroke away, each filed in the right place without asking.
Tasks collect themselves
Every to-do jotted in any note appears in one list (overdue, due soon, blocked), and ticking one off updates the original note.
Wrap up and carry forward
At the end of a stretch of work, the note is archived with one key and a fresh one starts, unfinished tasks carried forward automatically.
Past decisions stay clear
Six months later, the decision still has its date, context and the options that were ruled out.
Incidents became lessons
What happened, what fixed it and what to watch for, written during the fix, not reconstructed after.
Projects restart faster
Returning to a project starts with a clear note showing where things stand and what comes next.
Made to fit the work it needs to do.
The notes are readable files on the machine, so they remain portable and usable without Waypoint. The app earns its place through speed and care, not by controlling access to the records.
It can share what's decided with the studio's AI memory, so decisions written here reach every AI tool we use, but that's optional and off by default. Daily notes and rough thinking stay private.
Could your business use something like this?
Tell us the job in plain English. We'll say what would solve it, what it would cost, and whether a desktop app is the right shape for it.
