Identity and ecommerce
We developed the Modern Printworks brand and built the artwork catalogue, checkout, payments and order administration.
Our own product: an art ecommerce platform connecting a curated digital-art catalogue with an online shop and a printing service for customer orders.
A collection of thousands of digital artworks provided the starting point for a new art business. Preparing that collection for sale meant selecting pieces, describing them and arranging them into useful groups, as well as building the shop itself.
We needed a process that supported considered curation while handling the volume of catalogue preparation.
We developed the Modern Printworks brand and built the artwork catalogue, checkout, payments and order administration.
The system examines incoming images, proposes titles and descriptions, identifies colours and suggests categories. A person reviews the catalogue before publication.
The owners can organise and review artwork on a local computer, then synchronise selected pieces with the website.
The ordering system connects to an external service intended to print and dispatch purchased artwork.
Collections can also be presented directly to hotels, restaurants, bars and cafés.
The platform brings preparation, selection and publishing into a connected process, with the owners retaining the final choice of artwork and descriptions.
At the time of this account, Modern Printworks was preparing for launch. Online orders, print delivery and direct commercial sales remained the next stage for the business.
